Marks of a Guitarist #

Nothing soothes my mind like the sound from a flute (mostly metallic) or the strumming of strings from a guitar/ violin.

While my idle times are spent clicking the shutter buttons of my camera, there are times when I occasionally glance at the marks of the guitar strings in my fingers. I was keen to learn playing at least an instrument, for I always thought it was like a meditation. Unfortunately my guitar stints didn’t last for long and ended up picking up a camera. But I do have a friend Gideon, who is a wonderful guitarist and a singer.

'Rock on' is one of my latest favorites. Farhan Akthar simply rocks. In fact I didn’t know that it was him initially. I often keep humming that "Na na...nah nah...nah - Na na...nah nah...". Watch the movie if you have not, for it will give you a feel as if you have got something that you longed for - especially if you had aspired to be a musician!

Excellent portrayal of the desire to do what one wants from heart, even after years. Of course for that you need a spouse who dreams for you and is very passionate about you. If that happens, you would be the luckiest person.

NOTE: Girls...sorry about the awards that have disappeared. It's one of those experiments with the new looks for my blog as well. If nothing works out, will get them back where they were.

Hmmm very true
listening to the strumming of strings from a guitar is just too good............

Pic lacked something... maybe the strings.
Ironically, I just tried a guitar a few days back to see whether my fingers can also produce sound. Surprisingly, it does!

yup...

Yes Lakshmi...its been a while i guess!

Venky, I went for his looks rather than the guitar...since getting closer to the musicians is somethin I don't prefer. Also guitar with strings, you often get to see. I go for frames that are not taken often. Rock star in the making, yeah!

The theme you asked for. I actually mentioned in the same post, if you didn't notice.

BTW, thanks for the explanation. That helped me an assignment this december. Chennai's music festival might very well be a portrait festival for me! It is amusing! Thanks a bunch!

Very little, Sowmi...but enough to re-start. Something I want to do in my life time.

Yes Venky, I have been fighting with the theme to make it compatible to make it the way I want it to look. Glad that mine are useful in some ways. Hopefully, I should be there for the fest, we sure can have a feast.

One more thing music without the expression of an artist is like watching a peacock without feathers (not when you just hear)...remember it!

I tried to learn guitar too.. but I never could! my hands were too small and the guitar was bigger than me hahaha but I think the problem was that I dindt tried hard enough but honestly it was a escape to another world whenever I felt chained..

Music is the languague of soul probably that's why we all feel so attrated to it and admired the ones who can speak it flowlessly...
Very nice pic my friend... kiss!

I like the expression of the musician with a dreamy look, absorbed in the music.
